My name is Morgan and I love creating in a variety of mediums, but my truest loves are writing, photography, and illustration.
My aim is to put my work out there and continue creating things that bring me joy while also connecting with others who have similar visions!
Some fun facts about me:
I have a B.A. in Applied Linguistics from U.C. Santa Cruz (I'm proud to be one of the first two students to graduate with the major!). Some of my favorite topics of study were language acquisition, intercultural communication, and education. I dream of pursuing a Master's in Speech & Language Pathology to someday work as a speech therapist.
I enjoy speaking and writing in French when I get the chance. While English is my first language I've studied French off and on for over a decade now (I began learning French when I was 11 years old!). After taking classes in middle school and high school I studied it in depth in college. I am also currently learning Spanish though I am still very much a beginner!
For the last 8 years I have kept sketchbook journals where I document my thoughts, worries, hopes, dreams, and daily life. They are some of my most prized possessions and I keep them lined up right next to my bed.
Some of my favorite jobs I've had include working as a school librarian, dog-walker, copy-editor, caregiver, and server working with dementia patients in an assisted living/memory care facility. I'm grateful for the wide variety of jobs I've had and I've learned so much from each one.
I've loved making art ever since I can remember. Some of my earliest memories involve creating paper mâché sculptures with my dad, selling drawings with my friends to our families and neighbors at the end of our driveways, and illustrating the nightly journal entries that my mom would help me write when I was 4 years old (she would write what I dictated, and at the end she would always ask me one thing I was grateful for that day).
